OpenOffice.org is an open-source software application suite available, it is distributed as free software and written using its own GUI toolkit. It supports the ISO/IEC standard OpenDocument Format (ODF) for data interchange as its default file format, as well as Microsoft Office formats among others. As of November 2009^[update], OpenOffice supports over 110 languages.

OpenOffice.org brings along some changes in the graphical user interface. After the acquisition of Sun Microsystems by Oracle all Sun Logos were replaced by Oracle Logos. Furthermore the OpenOffice.org logo was refreshed for the release. OpenOffice.org  Calc and Writer both have a reduced “cold start” time by 46%, it also includes support for PostScript-based OpenType fonts.
