Joke Ridge is a control panel that allows Mac users to mount ISO 9660 CD-ROM, with Joliet and Rock Ridge filename support. Although Macs can read ISO 9660 CD-ROM natively, systems before MacOS X cannot manage Joliet and Rock Ridge filenames, typically used in Windows and Unix systems. As a consequence, in volumes created under these platforms Macs usually see filenames with no more than 8+3 characters, even if they were originally longer.Joke Ridge shows full filenames unless they are more than 31 characters long. In this case, names are truncated. In MacOS 9 or later, Joke Ridge supports longer names, but you will be able to use them only if your applications also support long names.
