NetBeans IDE is an Open Source Java IDE with everything a software developer needs to build development tools and custom IDEs as well as many other types of desktop applications.

NetBeans IDE provides support for the latest standards in J2SE, J2EE, and J2ME technologies.

NetBeans 5.0 introduces plug-in developer support, the intuitive GUI builder Matisse, redesigned CVS support, Sun Application Server 8.2, Weblogic9 and JBoss 4 support, and many editor enhancements. NetBeans 5.0 was released on January 31st, 2006.

Note : NetBeans IDE 5.0 requires a J2SE JDK, version 1.4.2 or higher.
