Raine is an arcade game emulator for M68000 and M68020 arcade games and is mainly focused on Taito and Jaleco games. It all started as an experiment with the Rainbow Islands romset which was abandonned by 'Aracorn/Romlist'. Raine can emulate new games from Cave and other companies. Sound was improved thanks to the work of Hiromitsu Shioya. More recently, new programmers have joined the Raine Team, adding drivers and making improvements. Emulating CPU and sound chips takes along time to code, so, like most emulators, Raine uses emulation engines which are already available when possible.
