OpenOffice.org for Mac OS X (X11) is a multiplatform and multilingual office productivity suite and an open-source project.

The office suite is free to download, use, and distribute and has a user interface and feature set similar to other office suites. Sophisticated and flexible, OpenOffice.org also works transparently with a variety of file formats, including those of Microsoft Office, and the vendor-neutral OpenDocument standard from OASIS.

OpenOffice.org features a word processor(WRITER),a multimedia presentation program (IMPRESS), a mathematical function creator (MATH), a Vector Drawing Tool (DRAW), a spreadsheet (CALC), and an easy-to-use database manager with a fully integrated database database (BASE).

OpenOffice.org incorporates an array of new features and enhancements to all its core components, and protects users from newly discovered security vulnerabilities. It is a major release and all users should download it.

For Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger). Please note that this is a Power PC ONLY build and will not run on the new Intel based Macs (a separate download is available on this site).
